Roseau is an outdoorsmans paradise with tamarack bogs, praire grasslands and sandy pine forests along with many acres of state and county parks and wildlife areas. These areas provide ample opportunity for hunting, bird and wildlife watching, ATV and snowmobile riding, hiking and cross country skiing. The most visited parks are Hayes Lake State Park, Roseau City Park and the Roseau River Wildlife Management Area.
Roseau has one of the areas finest 18 hole championship golf courses, Oakcrest Golf Course. It is a Joel Grandstrand designed course and offers a challenging layout near the Roseau River.
A summer tradition is the Roseau County Fair - one of the top five county fairs in Minnesota. The biggest tradition for winter and one that Roseau is very well known for is hockey. The Roseau Rams own a record of state hockey championships and are the home rink of a number of NHL and Olympic stars. The historic Roseau arena houses many pictures, displays and trophies of those stars and others.
Roseau has a nice home town feel, a beautiful Main Street and quaint shops. You will enjoy its beauty and friendliness. It was, in fact, named "The friendliest place in America" by the Men's Journal Magazine. Come and see for yourself!
