Hayes Lake State Park

Hayes Lake State Park is located 18 miles southeast of Roseau on Roseau County Road 4. This park consists of 3,000 acres of pines, lake, wildlife and activity. Hayes Lake is open year round for visitor use. Activities include: camping, swimming, picnicking, hiking, biking, and horseback riding, canoeing, and fishing. There are also naturalist programs in the summertime. In the fall there is an increase in hiking around the park as there are increased wildlife observations.

In the winter, the park is transformed to a white wonderland for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. A total of 12 miles of groomed trails exist in the park. (6 for XC-skiing and 6 for snowmobiling) The park snowmobile trails connect to hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails in the Beltrami Island State Forest.
